College of Humanities Holds Maiden Awards Ceremony

The College of Humanities, University of Ghana, Legon, has held its maiden awards ceremony to honour 34 members of staff and units of the college for their meritorious service and dedication to the growth and development of the college. In her opening statement, the College Secretary Mrs. Mavis Otoo-Ayeh welcomed everyone to the gathering and lauded the Provost for his foresight in instituting the awards scheme. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah-Amfo has inaugurated a 15-member Advisory Board of the College of Humanities which will be chaired by Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.

At the ceremony held on the 10th of August, 2022, she noted that the Board was a very important and strategic partner of the University of Ghana, in its quest to give world-class training to students to prepare them for the world of work and also global citizenship.

The University of Ghana (UG) has been ranked the best tertiary institution in Ghana in the January 2022 Webometrics Rankings and the World Scientific Index for 2022 by the Alper-Doger (AD) Scientific Index.

Webometrics places the University of Ghana as first in Ghana, 11th in Sub-Saharan Africa and 1,121 in the world - out of 31,000 Higher Education Institutions from more than 200 countries:

University of Ghana Partners Bonn and Basel Universities

A delegation from Bonn and Basel Universities in Germany, led by the Director the Centre for Asian Studies, Dr. Lloyd Adu Amoah, has paid a courtesy call on Prof. Gordon Awandare, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs. The visit was to officially introduce themselves as spearheads of the Katekisama Project which will allow scholars and students of the University of Ghana, Bonn and Basel to collaborate via research, exchange programmes, fellowships, special courses, seminars and conferences.
