COH-Tecno Mobile Scholarship Scheme 2024

Under the auspices of the Memorandum of Agreement between the College of Humanities, University of Ghana and Tecno Mobile Limited, 34 Scholarships will be awarded to students at the College. The total amount of the scholarship fund is GHS 100,000. The awards are targeted at brilliant students who have financial challenges towards their studentship at the university for the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Call for Scholarship Applications – 2024

The College of Humanities is accepting applications for the award of the COH-Tecno Mobile Scholarship Scheme. This maiden edition of the award will be disbursed to students towards their studentship in the second semester of the 2023/2024 Academic Year.

The Scholarship will cover tuition, books/materials, accommodation, stipend and other costs related to their studentship. It would be awarded to students who have at least a CGPA of 3.0 and demonstrate the need for studentship support.

You are eligible to apply, if you:

  1. Are a registered student at the College of Humanities.
  2. Have a CGPA of 3.00 and above (very limited slots).
  3. Can demonstrate limited family income and/or insufficient funds to cover some of the expenses related to your studentship.
  4. Have the will to succeed (determination, perseverance, and success in other pursuits).
  5. Are of Good Conduct.

Required Documentation

Please submit the following (in PDF format):

  1. Admission letter
  2. Recommendation letter from a faculty attesting to your academic performance and need for the scholarship.
  3. Applicant’s transcripts as evidence of academic performance.
  4. Evidence of income of parent/guardian/self.
  5. Any other supporting documents that you believe will assist in the processing of your application.

You may be asked for additional information if corrections are needed or if any information/response on your application is not clear.

EXAMPLES OF SOME SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

  • Official pay slip or payroll record of parents/guardians or the applicant.

  • Recent school receipts/ bills of siblings of school-going age.

  • Tax return receipts– IRS, VAT, tabletop hawking receipts, etc.

  • Death Certificate or Burial permit (in case of death of a parent).

  • Pension letter for retired parents/guardians.

  • Evidence of other dependents of parents/guardians.

  • Letter of reference concerning your need from a person working in a 'recognised profession'.

  • Any other supporting documents that you believe will assist in the processing of your application.
