Professor Mary Setrana, Director, Centre for Migration Studies, UG and Chair of Forced Displacement in West Africa together with Ramata Molo Thioune, a Senior Programme Manager of Research Centre for International Development (IDRC) of Canada, at its regional Office in Dakar for West and Central Africa paid a courtesy call on the Provost, College of Humanities, Prof. Dan Ofori. Ramata Thioune was in Ghana as part of IDRC’s monitoring of projects sited in the University of Ghana. During the visit, the Provost highlighted the importance of partnerships in fostering research collaboration, policy development, and practical solutions to forced displacement in West Africa. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the IDRC for funding the Research Chair to deliver on a gender transformative project among forcibly displaced persons. He also acknowledged the enormous contribution of the Research Chair to graduate and post-graduate training as well as community engagement in Ghana.
