The College of Humanities (CoH) Secretariat, on December 22nd, 2023, held a staff durbar to round up the year’s activities. The durbar, which is the first of its kind to be held by the College, was aimed at: affording all CoH Secretariat staff the opportunity to reflect on their successes and failures; to strategise for the coming year; and to bond with each other. It also included a question-and-answer time with the Provost and Heads of Unit. The event began with a prayer by Mr. Michael Amfoh of the College Finance Office, followed by the College Secretary, Mr. Benedict Fosu Adjei, who welcomed everyone and explained the purpose of the gathering.

In his remarks, the Provost, Prof. Daniel Frimpong Ofori, welcomed everyone to the gathering and expressed his elation at how good the year had been. He thanked everyone for their hard work and shared his excitement and plans for the upcoming year. These plans include the forthcoming graduation in January 2024, the 3rd edition of the College Awards, the 2nd College Annual Report, and the new student admissions. He also encouraged all members present to reach out to their direct supervisors if they ever had any issues, needed help or wanted to share ideas on how to enhance work efficiency and effectiveness. The Provost further commended everyone for adjusting well to their offices in the new building and wished everyone a happy new year.

Subsequently, the College Finance officer, College Materials Officer, and other representatives from the College Human Resource Office, the National Service Personnel and the College Interns shared their experiences over the past year and revealed their hopes for the new year. The Provost and the College Secretary then gave their closing remarks to climax the event. This was followed by a question-and-answer session during which various issues of interest and concern were raised and discussed dispassionately. Present at the durbar were staff from the various units within the College Secretariat including the College General Administration Office, College Finance Office, College Human Resource Office, College Academic Office, College Procurement and Facilities Management Office and the College Communications Office. The durbar was held in the conference room of the Kojo Senanu Arts and Languages building.
