Dean, School of Social Sciences Organises Forum with Faculty Members

The Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Prof. Mavis Dako-Gyeke, on Tuesday, 28th November 2023 organised a forum with faculty members to discuss issues related to working together to make the School more vibrant, inclusive and visible. Mrs. Emelia Nartey, the School Administrator, delivered the opening prayer and welcome message, after which she introduced the team from the Office of the Dean.

Department of Social Work Marks World Social Work Day

The Department of Social Work, School of Social Sciences, College of Humanities in recognition and appreciation of the significant role played by social workers in society, joined the world in celebrating World Social Work Day on Monday, 27th March, 2023. As part of activities marking the day, a brief ceremony was held to launch a week-long programme of activities to be undertaken by students in the Department under the auspices of the Association of Students of Social Work (ASSOW).

Department of Social Work Commemorates DSRA

The Department of Social Work joined the University community, particularly the College of Humanities, to celebrate the Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa (DSRA) at the Kofi Drah Conference Room on the theme “Bridging the Gap between Academia and Social Work Practice”.

Representatives from both government and non-governmental organisations who supervise students of Social Work on fieldwork participated in the event. A section of graduate students and faculty members of the Department of Social Work were also in attendance.
