Dr. Mareike König, Deputy Director of the German Historical Institute Paris (GHIP), one of the partners of Maria Sibylla Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa’s (MIASA), has paid a courtesy call on Professor Daniel Frimpong Ofori, Provost, College of Humanities, as part of her working visit to MIASA.
In his welcome remarks, Prof. Ofori reiterated the importance of an international and interdisciplinary research institute such as MIASA at the University of Ghana, and the networking opportunities with the academic world it creates especially for early career researchers.
In her response, Dr. König stressed the importance and value of MIASA since its establishment three years ago. She stated that her mission was to observe MIASA’s operations and to hold consultations on further collaboration between MIASA, GHIP and other German Historical Institutes across the world. She was hopeful that the collaboration will be mutually beneficial to all the institutions involved.
