The book is the outcome of a project on Christianity and COVID-19. Three members of the Department of the Studies of Religions (and a former PhD student) contributed the following articles:

Gatti, N. – Salakpi, A. “The Word of God and the Covid-19: Intercultural reading of Job’s questions to God, pp. 46-56

Covid-19 pandemic generated many questions, many challenges about God: why this cruel death on humanity? It seems once again that the Word of God is belied by the facts from experience of His silence. The dilemma faced today is described in one of the most dramatic books of the Bible, the book of Job. Against this background, the article aimed at a recall of the questions raised about God in the book of Job in order to find a reconstruction of a new image of God to offer Christian communities in Ghana, at a time when the certainties preached by many ‘men of God’ are shattered by experience.

Ossom-Batsa, G. and Otoo Ayeh J. “Trusting in God’s protection in the wake of COVID-19: An exegetical reading of Psalm 91, pp. 177-187.

The COVID -19 pandemic is a global human predicament that has affected both rich and poor nations. It knows no racial nor gender boundaries; it does not discriminate between the innocent and sinful. In Ghana, where most people associate chronic diseases, suffering, and death with guilt or sin, and believe that these are caused by the devil, the situation becomes much more dramatic for religious leaders to offer a response of hope. It is against this background that this paper studies Psalm 91 from a Ghanaian perspective to explore divine assurance and protection during adversities.
