The academic programmes of the College are diverse and varied, including dance, music, theatre arts, political science, sociology, economics, geography, psychology, social work; English, linguistics, modern languages; archaeology, history, religions, philosophy/classics; law, business and international relations. Our programmes are grounded in a rigorous, broad-based liberal arts curriculum that develops students’ knowledge, analytical abilities, research skills, and creativity. In addition, the College offers professional programmes in Law and Business Administration. Our strong intellectual tradition, the breadth and quality of our programmes, and the productivity and dedication of faculty, has made the College of Humanities the preferred choice for many prospective students both local and foreign.

The College has established teaching and research networks with a number of universities around the world, and these networks provide rewarding opportunities for both students and faculty. We welcome more partnerships as we strive to provide more quality education to our students. The research programmes of faculty in the College continue to grow and increasingly encompass emerging development and social issues of concern to the country. College faculty are also engaged in advocacy and provide leadership in public policy discussions.

This is an exciting time to be a part of the University of Ghana. The campus is undergoing an impressive transformation with the construction of facilities and the renovation of roads. I encourage all prospective students to explore our website to learn more about our academic programmes, our dedicated faculty, and our supportive university community. Thank you for your interest in the College of Humanities. Please contact me at dofori@ug.edu.gh if you have any questions or comments.
