A joint delegation of representatives from Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique et Technologique (CNRST), Geographical Institute of Burkina Faso (IGB), Burkina Faso National Archives and Commission Nationale des Frontiers (CNF) from Burkina Faso has paid a courtesy call on the Provost, College of Humanities, Prof. Daniel Frimpong Ofori.  

In brief remarks, the Leader of the Burkina Faso Team, Prof. Pierre Claver Hien, disclosed that his country had initiated plans of documenting its border boundaries and those of its neighbours. Consequently, there would be the need for existing data including maps. Due to the cutting-edge research conducted by the faculty of the University of Ghana, the delegation hoped to collaborate with the Department of Geography and Resource Development to enable them to achieve their mandate.

Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Frimpong Ofori, expressed delight about the quest for knowledge-sharing and collaboration with the University of Ghana.  He was hopeful that the collaboration would strengthen the existing and long-lasting relationship between the two countries.

Present at the meeting were Prof. George Owusu, Dean, School of Social Studies; Prof. Kwadwo Owusu, Head, Department of Geography and Resource Development, Prof. Alex Barimah Owusu, Dr. Lydia Osei and Mr. Kelvin Sah, all of Department of Geography and Resource Development. 

The Burkina Faso Team comprised Ouedraogo Alassane Wend Kûuni, Secretaire Permanenent (SP)-CNF; Sandwidi Rasabwendé Aristide, SP-CNF; Ouedraogo Abdoul Mounimouni, IGB; Kamboulé Kouno Jean Bertin, Director, National Archives, Burkina Faso;  Zagre Lèontine, SP-CNF and Nare Pascal, The delegation was accompanied by Madam Stephanie Esinam Tukpeyi, Assistant Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ghana.
