The Provost of the College of Humanities, Prof. Daniel Frimpong Ofori has attended the maiden University of Ghana donor appreciation cocktail held by the Students’ Financial Aid Office to honor and show appreciation to donors for the important role that their generosity has played in the lives of brilliant but needy UG students. In declaring the purpose of the gathering, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs (ASA), Prof. Gordon A. Awandare alluded to the indispensable role that the Students Financial Aid Office plays in the lives of many students. He, however, acknowledged that despite the pertinent role played by the office, it takes the benevolence of donors in order to keep the Office running. It is for this reason that the donor appreciation cocktail was being held, to recognize their efforts. Prof. Awandare further intimated that the dreams of most of the scholarship beneficiaries would have remained unfulfilled had it not been for the donations of donors. He therefore expressed his gratitude to the donors and asked for their continued support in realizing the dreams of many more students.  In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, reiterated the university’s sincere appreciation to the donors and made a passionate appeal for more donations to enable the office to assist more students, considering the current economic situation in the country.
