The new College Secretary of the College of Humanities, Mr. Benedict Fosu Adjei, has embarked on a working visit to the administrative units of the various schools and institutes under the College to introduce himself, share his vision for the College and garner support from them towards effective service delivery during his tenure. In his remarks, Mr. Fosu Adjei intimated that the University’s core values have guided his many years of service to the University of Ghana. He, therefore, urged all the staff of the administrative units in the schools and institutes to also be guided by these values, which include loyalty, respect, commitment and integrity in their daily service to the University.

In communicating his personal vision for the College to each unit visited, Mr. Fosu Adjei reiterated the need to work towards achieving the current nine Strategic Priorities of the University, from which the Vice-Chancellor has extracted her Key Strategic Objectives (KSOs). These Key Strategic Objectives (KSOs) include impactful research, technology-driven processes, strengthened revenue generation, a vibrant and responsive governance and management system, enhanced visibility, and ownership and commitment among students, faculty, staff and alumni. According to Mr. Fosu Adjei, his personal vision for the College during his tenure is also inspired by the Vice-Chancellor’s vision for the University.

Mr. Fosu Adjei believes that these pillars will help him and the College of Humanities to provide the best service and guarantee the realisation of the University’s vision. He, therefore, called on all the staff of the administrative units to support his vision with the necessary ideas and expertise that would help to bring it to fruition.

After each briefing, there was an open forum to enable staff present to give comments and also ask questions. These interactive sessions served as avenues for the College Secretary to take note of staff concerns and issues that needed to be addressed. The official tour, done in clusters, commenced with the six schools of the College and concluded with the Institutes. This took place between Friday, 1st September to Tuesday, 19th September 2023.
